As the sun rose over Liberty Ranch High School on Monday October 9th, 2017 there was a sense of excitement in the air.  Students and staff enter the field behind the school to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the athletic field improvements that were about to begin. Among those breaking the ground were all five of the current Galt Joint Union High School District trustees, Paige Lampson from Galt City Council, Galt Mayor Mark Cruz, and Don Nottoli, a former Galt high school graduate who works for the fifth district now.  However, none had bigger Smiles on their faces then Liberty Ranch High School ASB president Hannah Rowles and Liberty Ranch High School Principal Jose Saramago as they took the front and center positions while digging. As the ceremony ended, the construction crews waited for everyone to leave before closing the gates.  Now it is officially a construction site.  In a few months, we look forward to seeing the final product. Special improvements at Liberty Ranch High School are becoming a reality. P.E. students, Liberty Ranch High School sports teams, and community events will be able to use the field once it is complete.  In attendance today were many excited faces. The band cheerfully played songs.  The cheerleaders and football players sat in front row seats to witness the first shovel fulls being removed from the ground. The field will never look the same again... and student spectators were excited to be present at this monumental moment.  Special thanks to Angela Deprado for organizing such a monumental event.
