Galt Joint Union High School District Makes the Honor Roll!!!
Galt Joint UHSD has been named to the College Board's 10th Annual AP District Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes 250 school districts in the U.S. and Canada that have increased access to AP coursework while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. To be included on this list, the College Board collects data from the previous three years (2017-2019) and highlights districts that have made significant progress in increasing access to AP for underrepresented groups while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning AP exams scores of 3 or higher.
We are proud of our students for their hard work in preparing for the AP exams, and of our teachers and staff for their dedication to providing the best possible education for our students.
Galt Joint Union High School District is committed to expanding access to AP® coursework to students of all backgrounds, improving performance, and supporting success. Over the past several years, we have made great strides in increasing access to Advanced Placement courses by providing more opportunities to take classes by moving to an 8 period block schedule, expanding the number and variety of AP courses we offer, removing barriers for students to access AP courses and taking AP exams, and reaching out to students who may not see themselves as AP students, but have demonstrated readiness to be successful in these highly-rigorous courses.
Galt Joint Union High School District offers 19 Advanced Placement courses. By taking these courses, students are provided the opportunity to take the AP Exam in each subject area in May. These courses will duplicate as closely as possible the rigor of a first year college course allowing students to receive honors credit and possibly college credit if the AP Exam is passed with a score of 3 or higher.
