Preparing Students for College and Careers
Galt Joint Union High School District (GJUHSD) prepares students with the hands-on skills they need to succeed in college and future careers. The District’s high schools offer award-winning Career Technical Education programs that support pathways in skilled trades and vocational careers. Graduation rates across the District surpass the State average. GJUHSD has been recognized as a California Distinguished School Award Recipient and a California College Board Advanced Placement (AP) District of the Year.
Aging Schools Require Repairs and Upgrades
Some GJUHSD buildings are nearly 100 years old. Many school facilities are aging and in need of repair and modernization. Classrooms and labs need updates to support today’s academic standards and ensure safe learning environments. Following a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan process, the District identified more than $160 million urgent repairs and upgrades needed districtwide—far exceeding the District’s operating budget. Because State funding for school facilities is unreliable and generally requires local matching funds, the District has limited options for completing these critical projects.
The GJUHSD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to place Measure G, a $43,000,000 school improvement bond measure, on the November 3, 2026 ballot. If approved by voters, Measure G would cost an estimated $30 per $100,000 of a property’s assessed (not market) value per year, while bonds are outstanding.
Local funding could support priority school improvements, including:
Fiscal Accountability and Local Control
By law, if approved by voters Measure G would include strict fiscal accountability protections to ensure responsible use of funds:
