"Bright Futures Grow in Galt"

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year in the Galt Joint Union High School District!

Building upon the foundations established in the Galt Joint Union Elementary, Arcohe, New Hope and Oakview School Districts, our district team is committed to ensuring that all students graduate prepared for success in college, career, and civic life.

In collaboration with families and our community, the Galt Joint Union High School District maintains a shared vision of learning and growth for all students by:

  • Implementing rigorous and innovative programs through high standards of teaching and learning;
  • Providing relevant and authentic learning opportunities;
  • Embracing diversity and practicing equity;
  • Preparing students for college, career, and life in the 21st century;
  • Developing students of character who demonstrate self-confidence, integrity, and community pride;
  • Attracting and retaining a caring and qualified staff; and,
  • Maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment.
We recognize that a high school diploma is no longer enough to ensure rewarding employment and a secure future. To this end, we offer rigorous academic courses to meet students’ individual interests, including a variety of Advanced Placement options at both campuses.  Our students prepare for careers by joining in award winning career technical education pathways including agriculture, biomedical sciences, engineering, informational technology, and careers with children - to name just a few.

Beginning with the class of 2020, every student participates in a program called “My 10 Year Plan” to develop and monitor a “college, career, and life” plan that spans four years of high school as well as the first six years after graduation.  We engage our community in mentorships and work experience opportunities to help our students achieve their short- and long-term education and career goals.

Most notably, our entire district – with its two comprehensive high schools - is smaller than a single high school in our neighboring districts. Our students' benefit from a highly personal learning environment in which their teachers and school staff know them by name and are focused on meeting each students individual social and academic needs. If you seek a rigorous college preparatory program balanced by individualization and career preparation, Galt is your district! Come Grow And Learn and Thrive with us.
